TIME-LINE SEPTEMBER 2006: RETIREMENT Rumors have swirled for weeks that Trish will be retiring following this year's Unforgiven and in early September, those rumors were confirmed by Trish herself. Ashley was interviewed following the announcement and had this to say: "I was really upset when I found out Trish is retiring. She has obviously been a very good friend to me. She was the first one to take me under her wing, she was my first tag partner, she taught me a lot and I was really upset when I found out. I’m not gonna lie, I really felt it,” a choked-up Ashley remarked. “I don’t think I would be where I am right now or where I got to on RAW if it wasn’t for her. [Trish is] the pinnacle of what I think all of us want to do in this business, and that’s work hard, get to the top.” Here's wishing Trish the absolute best, thanks for the memories! :D MARCH-AUGUST 2006: A NEW CHAPTER Two days after Mickie turned on Trish and two weeks before Trish and Mickie were set to go one-on-one at Wrestlemania 22 for the Women's Championship, Mickie taunts Trish with a "present" - revealing that the present was infact a gagged and bound Ashley, still healing from her surgery. Before too long, Mickie and Trish were brawling outside the ring, resulting in a bloody nose for James. Trish attempted to save Ashley, but to no avail as Mickie once again took control sending Trish to the mat with a massive DDT, knocking her out. Ashley lay helpless as Mickie plants a bloody and sadistic kiss on Trish. (MAR20) In the coming month, Trish would dislocate her shoulder, but remained in action as she stood in the corner of Torrie Wilson and new RAW diva Beth Phoenix as they went up against Mickie's "team" of Candice Michelle and Victoria. Meanwhile, on June 2 Ashley completed rehab for her broken leg and returned to WWE as Smackdown's newest diva. However in late August, Trish, Ashley and the rest of the diva lockerroom "welcomed" the new Diva Search winner Layla - by spraying her down in the shower - during Summerslam. (AUG20) FEBRUARY 2006: ASHLEY INJURED In their Royal Rumble rematch and with Trish serving once again as the special guest referee, Ashley defeated Mickie with a roll-up. The finish saw Mickie's flying elbow aimed at Ashley instead hit Trish, who - this time - wasn't hesitant to make the count. (FEB06) Later during a weekend houseshow, Ashley served as the special guest ring announcer for a divas tag match that saw Trish and Mickie defeat Candice and Victoria. Afterwards, Mickie attacked Ashley for not announcing her name as "excitedly" as she did Trish's. Stratus was left once again to pull them apart, pissing Mickie off. (FEB18) Sadly two days later, Ashley suffered a broken leg after both her and Mickie bumped outside the ring. WWE.com posted two digitals of Ashley backstage following the injury with Trish, as well as others, by her side. :) (FEB20) JANUARY 2006: MICKIE SNAPS! The month of January saw Mickie's admiration for Trish quickly turn into a dangerous obsession. It began with Mickie interfering in Trish and Ashley's first match as opponents, causing a DQ on Trish and costing Ashley her chance at gold. Afterwards, Trish tried apologizing to Ashley, who told Trish she was drawing the line with Mickie. (JAN09) The following week Trish believed she had things under control, but it quickly fell apart when coupled with Trish tagging in Ashley instead of Mickie, who moments later was accidently knocked off the ring apron by Ashley, Mickie's jealously once again got the best of her as her attack on Ashley cost her team the match against Candice Michelle, Victoria, and Torrie Wilson. (JAN16) One week before the Royal Rumble, Trish and Ashley successfully defeated Candice and Victoria, but their victory was short lived when Mickie once again attacked Ashley. Moments later it was announced Mickie and Ashley would go one-on-one with Trish as the special referee (JAN23), which saw Mickie win but not before Trish hesitantly made the count. (JAN29) The next night, Ashley ruined Mickie James' "Trish Stratus Celebration" (JAN30) DECEMBER 2005: TWICE AS NICE While Trish and Ashley only teamed together twice the whole month, it still had its fair share of ups and downs. On Trish's birthday, she and Ashley teamed together and defeated Torrie Wilson and Candice Michelle in a match that saw Jerry "The King" Lawler as the special guest referee. (DEC18). While during the special RAW tribute to the troops, they lost against Candice Michelle and Maria, but entertained the troops nonetheless. (DEC19). NOVEMBER 2005: UPS AND DOWNS The beginning of the month saw Trish successfully retain her title against the other RAW divas, including Ashley, in the Diva Fulfill Your Fantasy match. (NOV01). Days later, in a joint brand divas match, Smackdown superstar Melina defeated the RAW and Smackdown divas, including Trish and Ashley, to win the Diva Battle Royal after she surprisingly eliminated Trish! (NOV14) While the end of the month saw Trish, Ashley, and Mickie James defeat Victoria, Torrie Wilson, and Candice Michelle. (NOV28) OCTOBER 2005: MEET MICKIE JAMES October proved to be a busy month kicking off with Trish and Ashley easily defeating Torrie, Candice and Victoria during the weekend houseshows. (OCT02) During RAW's Homecoming, Trish and Ashley defeated Torrie, Candice, and Victoria in a Bra and Panties match. Before the match, Trish and Ashley had a little encounter with Mae Young. (OCT03) The next week Trish managed a victory over Victoria to retain her women's title, but Victoria wasn't giving up so easily which prompted Ashley to try and make the save, but to no avail. Suddenly a "mystery woman" entered the ring pounding on Victoria and easily sending her to the floor. All smiles, the "mystery woman" happily handed Trish, who clearly had no idea what was going on, her title and left the ring. Backstage the woman introduced herself to Trish and Ashley as "Mickie James" saying she was Trish's biggest fan and hugged her. Trish and Ashley looked on confused. (OCT10) During the weekend houseshows, Trish and Ashley defeated Victoria and Torrie after Trish delivered the Chick Kick to Victoria. (OCT14-16) The following night, in her first RAW match, Mickie teamed with Trish and Ashley to take on Torrie, Victoria, and Candice, but with Mickie's "inexperience", she cost her team the win. (OCT17) The weekend houseshows that followed saw Trish, Ashley and Christy Hemme defeat Torrie, Victoria and Melina. (OCT21-22) Mickie James secured her first RAW victory after defeating Victoria with Trish and Ashley's help the next night. (OCT24) Taking a break from weekend houseshows, the RAW roster instead embarked on a 3 day Australian tour, making stops in Sydney, Adelaide (where they defeated Victoria and Torrie), and Melbourne. (OCT27-29) The Halloween edition of RAW proved interesting as Trish (as Wonder Woman), Ashley (as a dark angel), Mickie (as Trish), and others took part in a Diva Halloween Costume Contest. Before too long, the contest turned into a diva brawl with no winner in regards to the actual contest itself. (OCT31) SEPTEMBER 2005: TRISH RETURNS! After being beatdown by Victoria, Candice, and Torrie for the month of August, September was abuzz with rumors of Trish returning after taking a couple of months off to heal an injury. And fans who attended the weekend house shows got a dose of Stratusfaction when Trish did just that, teaming with Ashley and quickly disposing of Victoria and Candice (SEPT3-4) however Trish is kept off RAW the next night that saw Ashley lose to Torrie. (SEPT05) House show fans are once again treated to Trish teaming with Ashley and the pair proves to be unstoppable as they easily defeat Victoria and Torrie. (SEPT9-11) Torrie, Candice, and Victoria attempt to lure Ashley to the ring, but this time she's not alone. 'Time to Rock and Roll' blasts over the PA system and out walks the Women's Champion. Within seconds, Ashley and Trish have cleared the ring of the diva trio as fan's cheer wildly. Welcome back Trish! (SEPT12) Before their match at Unforgiven, Trish and Ashley are interviewed about their match against Torrie and Victoria. Later on in the night, Trish and Ashley successfully defeat Torrie and Victoria "just like that". (SEPT18) In RAW's opening match of the night, Trish pins Torrie for the easy 1-2-3, but her victory is short lived as both she and Ashley are beatdown by Torrie, Candice, and Victoria. (SEPT19) Placed at the top of RAW's card once more, Trish defeated Victoria via DQ following interference from Torrie and Candice. Trish and Ashley soon fought off all three women and in the process, stripped a humiliated Candice to her bra and panties after which challenged Trish and Ashley to a Handicap Bra and Panties match set for RAW's Homecoming. Ashley and Trish later accepted. (SEPT26)
